It will take ten days for my Valentine to reach you. Let me explain why.

Over the last year this blog has grown because increasing numbers of visitors give me the incentive to continue writing. So I’ve decided to give a special Valentine’s Day gift to blog readers.

The gift is the e-book edition of Ask Yourself Questions and Change Your Life — at no charge — ten days from now, Valentine’s Day. But it will only be available for 24 hours, so please pay attention to what you need to do to receive the Valentine. You will be given the opportunity to sign up for the Valentine at the bottom of the page. In the meantime, I need to explain some things to you.

First, let’s take a step sideways. As you will know if you’ve been reading this blog for awhile and have heard me talking about the book, it is written for anyone wanting to make a change in his or her life without needing to find an expert who has all the answers. I believe we all have more answers within ourselves than we give ourselves credit for.

If you want to learn more about the book, you can read the preface, first chapter, and testimonials. And if you want to sign up for the free e-book, go to Ask Yourself Questions and Change Your Life. There is a form there that asks for your name (it can be a made-up name if you wish), but I will need your correct e-mail address in order to send you the password you can use on Valentine’s Day to access the e-book.

The last time I talked about the book, I gave you a testimonial from Belleruth Naparstek, MA, MFT, author of Invisible Heroes: Survivors of Trauma and How They Heal and creator of the Health Journeys audio series. Today I’ll quote Chellie Campbell, author of The Wealthy Spirit: Daily Affirmations for Financial Stress Reduction and Zero to Zillionaire:

“Arlene Harder has written a wonderful, insightful book on how to move from the ‘Land of Wish-and-Want’ to the ‘Land of Will-Do.’ Filled with fascinating stories and helpful exercises, her advice is intelligent, clear, and easily followed—for those who ‘will do’ it.”

I got the idea of giving you a Valentine’s Day gift when I read the blog of Ed Rivis, who offers advice on how to market online. He made a similar offer for his excellent book, “The Ultimate Web Marketing Strategy.” Taking him up on his offer, I downloaded it to my desktop, where I’m reading it and trying to make good use of his advice. Anyway, I thought a gift of the e-book would be a good way to let more people know about the book. I believe that those of you who receive the book for free will like it so much (because it’s filled with good material) that you will tell others about it. And they will want to purchase the paperback book and also learn about this blog. At least that’s the plan.

Then this morning I read the blog of Judith Sherven and James Sniechowski on the topic of “Why Does Selling Have Such a Bad Reputation?” It convinced me even more that I wanted to offer you my e-book, which as you can see from the testimonials may be just what you need right now. I’m determined to see selling as an opportunity to provide value in building a relationship. Incidentally, Judith and Jim are planning what sounds to be an excellent conference on Bridging Heart and Marketing (soft sell Internet Marketing) the end of February in Los Angeles. Although I am not attending, I may go to the one they offer in the fall. Check them out.

Limited Access

Please note that the e-book will be available for only 24 hours, from 8:00 AM Pacific Standard Time on Valentine’s Day to 8:00 AM the day after. When you give me your name and email address on the following form, I will send you the password that will open the secure file where the PDF format of the book is located. But the file must be downloaded by 8:00 AM PST on Feb. 15. After that date it will be taken off line. So I recommend you print out that page to remind you of the date.

The other special announcement

If you order Ask Yourself Questions and Change Your Life from the publisher, Personhood Press, before March 30th, you will not only pay $12.95 instead of the normal price of $14.95. You will receive it before you could buy it in bookstores. The book will be sent before the end of March, but will not be available in stores until May. So if you don’t think you’d like a free e-book, use this publisher’s special for a very good price for a very good book.

NOTE #1:
After you submit the form, you will need to fill in one of those boxes with the strangely shaped letters and numbers. That’s to prevent unwanted robots programed to search the Internet for forms and fill them out without a human doing it. Call me funny, but I only send Valentines to humans.

NOTE #2: If you have trouble getting back to the blog after submitting the form, you may just need to access the blog as you did when you first came here today (that is, if your back button doesn’t work).

NOTE #3: I don’t like websites that automatically sign me up for a newsletter just because I have given them my email address for a specific purpose (like ordering a free e-book). Therefore, I will not use your address to send you a newsletter. HOWEVER, if you are interested in the book, you may also be interested in the newsletter. So please go to the Support4Change newsletter page, check out a sample newsletter, and subscribe (for free, of course).

NOTE #4: If you have any trouble when trying to sign up for the FREE e-book, use the Contact Us form on Support4Change.
